đ§Ÿ Setup & Basics
Do I need Bustle Online to sell vouchers?
You will need to set up a BustlePay account and it also helps to have your Branding set up in your Bustle Online setup, but you don't need to have your Online menu activated to sell vouchers.
How much do vouchers cost me?
No setup fees, no subscriptions - just simple, pay-as-you-go pricing. You only pay when customers order online.
đč 4.9% (incl. GST/VAT) per transactionâ.
This approach means you win first, then we win - no fixed costs, just more orders flowing through your cafe. đ Yes, the online fees are a touch higher than a card terminal but this is a small fee for a whole lot of upside - cash in the bank, bigger tabs at checkout, and no stress about fraud or additional monthly costs.
Where do my vouchers appear for customers to buy?
Once you are all setup with Vouchers enabled, your direct link appears for you on the Bustle Hub under Bustle Online > Voucher Setup. You can share this link in your socials and website, or print out the QR and display it in-store. If you have your Bustle Online menu enabled, customers can also purchase directly from there.
What happens to the old vouchers in the system?
They remain exactly as is, apart from a tactical name change so you don't get the two confused. The old vouchers are now called Store Credit across the hub and the Bustle Till App - but the functionality remains exactly the same.
Whatâs the minimum and maximum voucher amount I can set?
Minimum amount is $20 and Max is $1000
Can I customise the voucher design or wording?
You sure can - do this by selecting Custom when adding a voucher to your page. Here you can name vouchers, add a message and also change the price and value amounts to offer 'special discounts'.
Can I sell both preset and custom voucher amounts?
Of course! Under Bustle Online > Voucher Setup you have an option to enable custom amount vouchers on your vouchers page as well as set min/max values.
đł Payments & Redemption
How do customers pay for vouchers?
On your Vouchers page, customers enter in some quick details and pay for them through BustlePay (powered by Stripe).
Where do voucher sales show up in my reports?
Voucher payments show up on your Sales Transaction Summary Report, as well as under Accounts > Vouchers, where they are listed.
How can customers redeem a voucher?
Customers can redeem their vouchers at the till or when they are paying for an order on Bustle Online. They are unable to use them at this point for Bill Splitting on TablePay.
We are still working on getting the QR codes on the voucher working for your iPad camera, so for now, the code will need to be entered into the till.
Can a voucher be used more than once if thereâs credit left?
Indeed they can. Vouchers can be used multiple times until fully redeemed.
What happens if the voucher amount doesnât cover the full bill?
If the payment amount is more than the voucher can cover, the amount remaining can be paid off in the usual ways.
Do vouchers ever expire? Can I set expiry dates?
Vouchers do expire. We have currently set the date for three years but this will be reviewed and may change depending on the country and any regulations in place. We are also looking into the ability for a boss to be able to extend a date by a short period after expiry. What works for you here? Let us know!

đ Gifting & Email Delivery
How do gift vouchers work when purchasing for someone else?
Customers have three options when purchasing vouchers. They can purchase for:
Themselves - purchaser is emailed the voucher and receipt.
Someone Else - recipient receives voucher email + purchaser receives the receipt.
An Unknown recipient - purchaser is emailed the voucher and receipt to be passed on at a later date.
Can customers write a personal message to the recipient?
They sure can! Vouchers can be personalised for both the 'Someone Else" and "Unknown recipient' options.
What does the voucher email look like?
Can I resend a voucher to a customer or recipient?
Yes, you will need to confirm the identity of the recipient and their voucher details, then locate the voucher on your Bustle Hub under Accounts > Vouchers. If you are happy all is legit you can resend the email using the button at the top right. This will break the link in the original voucher email so only this latest version is legitimate.
What if the email address was incorrect? Gather all the information about the voucher and contact Bustle Support.
Can I gift a voucher to a customer?
Yes! You can create a Giveaway Voucher in the Hub to shout a customer a drink, fix a mistake, or treat a regular. Perfect for small, one-off moments.
Do gifted vouchers incur the payment fees?
No, as no money is exchanging hands here for a giveaway, the BustlePay part is bypassed when the voucher gets redeemed.
Can I bulk-send vouchers to lots of customers?
Not recommended. Giveaway Vouchers arenât built for mass marketing - creating lots of $5â$10 vouchers can clutter your system with âowedâ balances and make tracking tricky. Best to keep them for one-off gestures, apologies, and VIPs.
đ§ Managing Vouchers
Where can I view or edit my vouchers?
You can view your vouchers on your Bustle Hub under Accounts > Vouchers.
Can I delete or disable a voucher?
Not at this point but we are looking into options here. Let us know what works for you and why it would be needed.
How can I refund or void a voucher?
If you want to refund a voucher this is done on your end as you have received the payment to your bank account. To then cancel the remaining value on the voucher, locate the voucher on your Bustle Hub under Accounts > Vouchers, and let us know the Amount and Date/time it was issued (or send us the web address from your browser when the voucher record is opened. We will void off the remaining voucher amount on your behalf.
Can I track voucher usage and balance?
Locate your vouchers on your Bustle Hub under Accounts > Vouchers. Here you can track balance and usage stats using the general widgets at the top of the page, or by clicking into each voucher.
What if a customer says their voucher didnât arrive?
Get them to check their spam folder in the email. If they cannot find it you will need to locate the voucher on your Bustle Hub under Accounts > Vouchers, and use the re-send function. This will break the link in the original voucher email so only this latest version is legitimate. If the email address was incorrect, gather all the information about the voucher and contact Bustle Support.
