Order dockets not printing at all

Orders are not printing but receipts and test prints are printing fine.

Written by Brent Wimmers

If order dockets don’t print at all but receipts do, the issue with the printing may be due to either:

  1. A section or sections of your menu not being added for printing.

  2. You may be trying to print a blank order.

If you are getting missing order dockets on occasion, check this article.

Adding menu sections to print

Check the following:

  • Open the Bustle iPad till app

  • Go to the Bustle Settings area.

  • Press Printers

Go to the main Printing Options page and look for a section called:

Menu sections not set up to print

If any menu sections appear here, they haven’t been linked to a printer yet and won’t print order dockets.

Select the printer you want to use from the left-hand side, then press:

Print Orders from Sections

Make sure all sections you want printing are ticked.
Tap a section to add or remove a tick.

Once done, try reprinting the order from: Settings → History → Orders

Or test again with a new order.

Printing an empty order

If everything else is printing correctly, but some orders aren’t, you may be trying to print a blank order.

When creating an order, you can either:

  • Pay

  • or save it as a Tab

Once one of these actions has been done, the original order is considered finished.

If you then go back and try to print the order again by pressing Pay or saving it as a tab a second time, Bustle creates a new blank order instead - and that blank order won’t print.

You’ll usually notice this because a new order number appears below the original one.

In the example below:

  • #1007 is the original order

  • #1008 is the new blank order

To reprint the original order, go to:

  • Settings → History → Orders

Select the original order, then press:

  • Reprint (at the bottom right.)
