What is Bustle Staffing?
Bustle Staffing is the add-on that connects:
Staff Members - your team setup, wage costs and emoji login details
Shifts - your weekly roster/rota
Clock in/out - staff recording their shift from the Bustle Till
Timesheets - reviewed and approved shift records, ready for payroll
Set the team up once, schedule the week, let the till collect the real shift times, then review the important bits before payroll. Easy as!

1. Set up your Staff Members
Start by adding your team in Staffing > Staff Members.
This is where you set up names, wage costs, till access, emoji logins, and confirmation emails for staff receiving their shifts.
You’ll also switch on the key bits for the till when you’re ready:

2. Build and Publish your Shifts
Next, head to Staffing > Shifts to build your weekly schedule.
You can start fresh, copy last week, or copy another week that had a similar rhythm. Add shifts, duplicate shifts, filter by staff or role, and add weekly notes so the team knows what’s going on.
Once it’s ready, publish the roster and send it out to the team.
3. Staff clock in and out from the Till
Once Shifts are published, your whole team can clock in and out from the Bustle Till.
They don’t need to log in first. They tap Shifts, find their name, clock in, and get on with the day.
At the end of the shift, they clock out, add any unpaid break time, leave an emoji rating, and add a note if needed.
Nice and clean. No paper trails. No “I think I started around 8-ish?” mysteries.
4. Review and approve Timesheets
When shifts are complete, head to Staffing > Timesheets.
Bustle will help flag the records that need a look before approval - this can include things like late starts, early finishes, staff notes, missing information, or unexpected shifts.
You review what needs checking, make any changes, approve the records, then lock the week for payroll and export your CSV.
Good things to know
Bustle Staffing is a subscription add-on. You’ll need it switched on before using Shifts, clock-in/out and Timesheets.
Wage costs live on staff records now. Make sure staff with Hub access are set up with the right role, so they only see what they need to see. And keep the boss login off the venue iPad - staff should use their own login where needed.
Published Shifts show on the Till. Saving a roster is not the same as publishing it. Publish when you’re ready for the team (and the till) to see it.
Staff can still clock in if they’re not rostered.
Penalty Rates can be added when needed. Useful for overtime, weekends, public holidays, or any other different pay rate setup.
All shift records need to be approved before payroll. Once everything is approved, you can lock the week and export your timesheets.
