NB: Wi-fi printers need a commercial router with a very stable and robust Wi-fi network to work effectively. If you have any concerns or questions - please get in touch with us through the support channel
Step 1 - Connect your Printer to your Wi-Fi
Here is the easy to follow Epson How To Video to connect your printer to your network. Once you have successfully connected it, you'll be ready to set it up for Bustle. (One thing to note - scan the QR code with the iPad you are setting up and not a phone)
Here are the step by step instructions from the video (if needed)
Plug the printer in and make sure it has paper.
Try turning on the printer and see if it automatically prints out a QR code - it should say SimpleAP Start at the top
IF it doesn't
i) Make sure printer is still switched on
ii) Open the lid where you insert the paper
iii) With the lid open, hold the Feed Button down until you see flashing lights
iv) Close the lid and wait for "SimpleAP Start' to print with a QR code.Use your iPad and scan the QR code from the print out. You should see a new network appear that looks like "DIRECT-TM-m30III-XXXXXXXX"
Connect to this network by pressing Join
Your iPad will then open up a new screen. It may also ask if you want to connect to devices on this network - select Yes
Once connected, your iPad should automatically activate the Epson Config. Select 'Wi-Fi'
Here you will be asked for a password. The password is located on the SimpleAP Start piece of paper the printer printed out. Below the QR code you will see SSID: DIRECT-TM-m30III-XXXXXXXX
Enter in this final set of numbers as the password.You will then be asked what Wi-Fi network to connect the printer to. Select the Wifi network you are connecting your iPads to at your venue.
Enter in the password for your Wi-Fi and confirm.
The printer should now perform a connection, then print out a confirmation docket with the new IP address.
Configure Your Printer for Bustle
On the Bustle Till App, press the Settings button (top right)
Select Printers > Add Printer
Click Active to ON
Press Printer and select Epson Thermal
Press Search for Printers and your new printer should appear
Try a Test print
If successful
Hooray - you are connected! Pop down to the button at the bottom of the page to get it all set up that way you want.
If it fails to print
Try this:
Select Printer -> Epson Thermal
Search for printers and select the Wi-Fi printer you just set up
Select Printer -> Epson Thermal (again)
Try a Test Print again.
If still no go, see the permission settings below and make sure you've allowed Bustle to access your network...
Permission for Bustle to access your network
While setting up you printer or printing for the first time after a reinstall of Bustle, you may be prompted to allow access for Bustle to your local network. Click ALLOW or you will not be able to print from Bustle.
