Printer Not Working

❌ Unable to print? Printing stopped? Let’s get you back in action.

Written by Brent Wimmers

Don’t stress - 90% of the time it’s one of these top 3👇

🔥 Quick checks (do these first)

  1. Same Wi-Fi?

    • iPad + printer MUST be on the same network

    • Go: iPad Settings → Wi-Fi (does it look correct?)

    • Is the printer plugged into a wi-fi Extender?

  2. Bustle allowed on network?

    • Go: iPad Settings → Apps → Bustle → Local Network → ON

    • If you don’t see the setting → try a test print and hit the Allow button

  3. Printer Lights?

    • Any red lights? Paper out? Cables loose?

    • Flashing lights? It's definitely not connected to your router

🧭 Still not printing? Let's step through...

Step 1: iPad check (biggest culprit)

Step 2: Look at the printer lights

  • 🔴 Red → paper out/jam or hardware issue

  • 🔵/🟢 Flashing → not connected to a router (cables, power off/on)

  • 🔵/🟢 Solid → printer is connected → check iPad (Close Bustle > Restart iPad > Check Wi-Fi)

Step 3: Quick fixes (30-second reset stuff)

  • Turn printer OFF → wait 10 sec → ON

  • Unplug + replug cables

  • Try another cable if you’ve got one

  • Restart the iPad

  • Check Network is allowing printing Go: iPad Settings → Apps → Bustle → Local Network → ON

  • If you don’t see the Local Network setting → try a test print and hit the Allow button

  • In Bustle:

    • Settings → Printers → Select the printer → Search/Add → Test print

    • (Epson printer? Try Re-selecting the model: Epson Ethernet then test print)

🧨 Last resort (network reset)

If nothing’s worked, when you have a spare moment...

  1. Turn router OFF (wait full 3 mins - not 30 sec)

  2. Turn back ON and wait a minute for the wi-fi to engage

  3. Re-search printers in Bustle
