Before you update

  • iPads must run iOS 14 or later. If yours can’t, Bustle Till won’t install - the iPad’s at the end of its run and should be retired. (what iPads work with Bustle)

    • Old versions risk lost sales data (we can’t recover it).

    • You’ll also miss new features and improvements.

  • Turn off auto updates. When a new Bustle Till is in the App Store, update all iPads together.

  • Best time to update? After service, when there’s space to fix any issues.

How to check if you are on the latest Bustle version

Head to your Bustle Hub, and go to Setup > iPad Setup. Here's where you can view all your tills and see what versions they are running. This image shows one till on the latest and one till on a VERY old version (that needs to be retired ASAP).

To check what the latest version of Bustle Till is, head to the App Store on your iPad, search for Bustle Till and select it so the page opens. Here you will see the latest version - showing as 6.3.0 in this image.

How to update Bustle

For most cases, updating the Bustle Till app is as easy as updating any app on your phone or iPad. Simply head to the Apple App store...

The App Store

and locate the update (this will differ depending on the age of the iPad).

Locate/search Bustle and press the Update or Download button.

How will the update install?

When the upgrade is running you may see a Bustle loading screen. It should only take 15-30 seconds to complete.

After the process has completed successfully, Bustle Till will open. If there are any further actions required, you will see an exclamation mark displayed on the device status icon.

Tap on the icon for further information and follow the instructions.

Should you have an issue after the release...

As long as your iPad is running iOS 14 or later, you can manually install Bustle. If the loading screen hangs for more than a minute (or if you hit any other issues after installing), a quick delete and reinstall of Bustle usually fixes it and only takes a couple of minutes. Follow the instructions below...

If issues continue, please get in touch straight away through the support messenger and we’ll be right with you to get you working again.
